Our dogs are part of our family, and we like to take them with us when we travel. But what are you to do when you want to spend a day or more at Dollywood or Dollywood’s Splash Country? You take them to Doggywood!
When we visited Dollywood, for the park’s Harvest Festival to check out Great Pumpkin LumiNights, we had two of our dogs, Lucy and Cisco, with us. Because my family usually spends several hours at the park, we didn’t want to have to worry about returning to our cabin for a walk, etc. We called and made a reservation for a Doggywood cottage before we left home. I highly recommend doing this, as the cottages and kennels are first come, first served. Without a reservation, you risk arriving at the park without a place to leave your furry friend.
Upon arrival, we were greeted by Betsy, who is a Doggywood host. We were delighted to find they had already marked a cottage with Lucy and Cisco’s names and filled a water bowl for them. We also loved the nice-sized comfy bed. Since they are “brother and sister” and live in the same house, they could share a cottage and keep each other company. After we provided a copy of their shot records, Lucy and Cisco were settled in their cottage. We handed over their leashes and were on our way to enjoy the day in Dollywood.
When you are a guest of Doggywood, you receive a “turnstile” pass, which allows you to come and go via the turnstiles to check on your pets as often as you wish. You can take them for a walk, feed them or steal a furry kiss. We saved some chicken from dinner and took them a tasty Dollywood treat later in the day! An extra bowl is also available, if you want to bring food/treats for your pet.
Doggywood is open 30 minutes before the park opens, and you will need to pick up your pooch within 15 minutes of the park closing.
If you travel with your dogs, be sure to check out Doggywood – for the safety of your dog and peace of mind that they are close by.
Remember, if you have a Dollywood Gold Pass, you will get a discount at Doggywood.

Note: Doggywood can only accept dogs.
