I’m sure you’ve seen antique or “Old Time” photography services around the Pigeon Forge area, but I’m here to tell you that nothing beats Ashley’s Antique Tintype & Old Time Photography at Dollywood. As always, Dolly Parton does it better. Dollywood’s Antique Photography stands out from the rest—and here’s why:
1. The hosts at Tintype Photo take their time with you. We never felt rushed or worried about our pictures. Heather, who took care of us, was incredibly patient with our entire family- including my squirmy 2-year-old. She offered assistance and guidance for choosing a setting, costumes, and props. As a photographer, she was fantastic. She took several photos and gave great direction with props and hand placement.
2. There are so many sets and costumes to choose from and they are all unique. The possibilities are endless! The variety offered at Ashley’s Antique Tintype & Old Time Photography allows you to completely customize your photos. Another great thing about the costumes: they’re all made in the USA (most at Dollywood)!
3. The photographer takes a variety of pictures. You can choose your combination of the whole family, or just photograph the kids. Before you change out of costume, you’ll be able to view your photos, just to make sure you love them before you leave. If you can’t bear to choose just one, you’ll have the option to purchase all photographs digitally in addition to your original photo. They were sent to my email in minutes!
4. The studio has a lot of great promotions and coupons. For starters, when you purchase a Tintype photo, you automatically receive a coupon for a free 5×7 (that NEVER expires) on your next visit. You can find more deals and promotions here.
For my family this was the best, most memorable part of our trip to Dollywood that day. My daughter immediately launched into character as an 1800s southern belle and she’s already asking when we’re going back.
