Picture your perfect Dollywood’s Splash Country Day. Close your eyes and imagine a warm summer sun, cool waters, and a belly full of the best food Dollywood’s Splash Country has to offer. I can see it now. One of my favorite things to do at any theme park is eat. I’m always on the lookout for the best bang for my buck when it comes to food. Dollywood’s Splash Country is no different. For a different take on our traditional food-centric posts on the Dollywood Insiders Blog, let’s chat about my favorite sweet treats at Splash Country!
BeaverTails
The first time I visited Splash Country, this was a new to me treat. Is it a funnel cake? Is it a pastry? I had no idea, but the pictures sure made it look tasty. After ordering my first BeaverTail, I found out it was sort of like a funnel cake and pastry in one. It is made from whole wheat dough, and it is stretched out into the shape of a BeaverTail (hence the name). But wait! There’s more! The best part is that you can top this sweet treat with whatever you like. Choices range from chocolate hazelnut spread to Reese’s Pieces to bananas to cinnamon and sugar. BeaverTails can be found in their own stand near the Mountain Waves wave pool.
Ice Cream and Milkshakes
Berries N Cream has all the ice cream you could ever need. My kids are partial to the hand-dipped cones, but you can also find soft serve ice cream, ice cream floats, and milkshakes. Of course, you could always go for a Berries N Cream too! Berries ‘n Cream also is located near Mountain Waves wave pool.
Dippin’ Dots
Every kid I know loves Dippin’ Dots. It’s a different take on traditional ice cream, and they always have lots of flavors to choose from. Dippin’ Dots can be found at Cascade Concessions near the back of the park, across from Campsite Grill, and on the wave pool deck.
Insider Tip
Chocolate Covered Bananas
Dollywood Insider Heather W. says “For those of us with gluten and dairy allergies, chocolate covered bananas are a good option!” The bananas have a chocolate coating and can be purchased with additional nuts or sprinkles on top of the chocolate coating. My girls love to get the chocolate covered bananas with sprinkles! Guests can find these fruity treats at Splash & Dash Sundries, which is located just past the entrance to Downbound Float Trip (aka the “lazy river” that runs around Splash Country).
Frozen Drinks
Finally, nothing is better to me on a hot summer day than a frozen drink. When guests purchase a Dollywood’s Splash Country “Fill & Chill” Season Mug, you can receive free refills on all fountain beverages and Icee products throughout the entire season. Guests can also use their Splash Country Season Mug to get discounted soda refills at Dollywood Theme Park. If purchasing the “Fill & Chill” Day Mug, refills will be free for the entire day of the visit, and refills will be discounted for the remainder of the season at both Splash Country and Dollywood. Frozen and hot beverages are not included in the Day Mug refills, so plan accordingly if you need that frozen drink fix! The Fill & Chill zone is located near the Campsite Grill and Berries N Cream.
Also worth mentioning is the new fruit smoothies and iced coffee at Berries N Cream!
