Dollywood is well-known for its thrilling rides, high quality entertainment and family-friendly atmosphere. Did you know that it’s becoming quite a foodie destination, too? With great events like Festival of Nations and Barbeque & Bluegrass, it’s no wonder that some people come to Dollywood just to sample the food.
Personally, I am a huge fan of snacks. When I’m at home, I try to “be good” and not eat too much outside of my mealtimes, but all bets are off on vacation! Dollywood has a variety of snacking options. From savory to sweet, and everything in between, these are some of the best snacks in Dollywood!
Cinnamon Bread at The Grist Mill
You knew this one was going to make this list, didn’t you? Of course we have to talk about Dollywood’s famous cinnamon bread! The Grist Mill, located in Craftsman’s Valley, is home to cinnamon bread and other delicious baked goods. You can even watch the cinnamon bread being made right before your eyes! This is a very popular snack item, so make sure you get enough to share!
Kettle Korn
Made fresh throughout the day, this sweet popcorn really hits the spot. Insider Kelly H. says, “When my children were younger, we got a funnel cake every time we went to Dollywood and took a bag of kettle korn home with us.” What a neat tradition to start with your family! Kettle Korn can be found at Country Cookers in Rivertown Junction.
Funnel Cakes
Speaking of funnel cakes, did you really go to a theme park if you don’t get a funnel cake? These are a staple that can easily be found in Rivertown Junction at Crossroads or in Wilderness Pass at Splinter’s. Are you a fan of toppings or just powdered sugar? The flavors change seasonally, so it’s worth a stop every visit. On the menu right now you can find Fruity Pebbles, Black Forrest and Powdered Sugar Funnel Cakes.
Pork Rinds
My husband’s personal favorite! He will eat pork rinds anywhere, anytime. These fresh pork rinds can be found in Craftsman’s Valley. They are deep fried to golden perfection for a one-of-a-kind southern snack. These, too, have seasonal flavors. There’s BBQ, Pizza, Jalapeno Cheddar, and Original.
Nuts at Showstreet Snacks
Do you smell cinnamon sugar almost as soon as you walk into Dollywood? Me too! What we’re smelling is the scrumptious cinnamon-glazed nuts at Showstreet Snacks! Choose from almonds, pecans or cashews with a cinnamon glaze. You can also choose salted cashews if you need a sugar break!
Ice Cream, Milkshakes and Sundaes
When the weather turns warm, I turn to cool, sweet treats. My family loves to get a homemade waffle bowl full of hand-dipped ice cream at Dollywood’s Sweet Shoppe. There are 10 flavors of ice cream to choose from. If milkshakes are more your style, there are plenty of flavor options for those, too! Don’t forget to try seasonal items here either!
Butterfly Pretzel
Finally, both Insiders Heather S. and Erica H. say their families love the butterfly-shaped pretzel. This fun, salty snack can be found at Sit N Sip in Craftsman’s Valley. Just like funnel cakes, soft pretzels are a staple of theme park snacking, and this butterfly shaped pretzel is a unique nod to the butterfly image that is so special to Dollywood.
I hope this list of snacks has got you hankerin’ for a trip to Dollywood soon! Make sure you leave room in your budget and your stomach to give these delicious bites a try!
