The Best Fall Picture Spots at Dollywood

There’s no better time than the fall for a trip to Dollywood. And there’s no better place than Dollywood for a great family photo. Dollywood’s Harvest Festival and Great Pumpkin LumiNights provide the perfect backdrops throughout the park for all of those fun family memories. And if you’re a mom like me, you’re constantly looking for those perfect picture spots. Here are a few of my “must stop and take a pic” spots at Dollywood this fall.

Large Displays

If you’re bringing the whole family or a large group of people to Dollywood, there are many large displays throughout the park that will accommodate many people. Such as the cornucopia located in Market Square, the pumpkin guitar in Craftsman’s Valley, as well the fall display outside of the Robert F. Thomas Chapel. Another great spot for large group pictures is the 40-ft. pumpkin tree located in The Plaza at Wilderness Pass. Each of these settings will give your pictures a different look and feel, so be sure to take them all in.

Insider Tip

There are many Dollywood photographers taking pictures at some of the picture spots throughout the park. If you forgot your camera or want to be in the picture, be sure to let them take your picture. They’ll even use your camera if you have it. Or you can purchase a Photo Pass and get unlimited photos from your day.

Unique Displays

For a little more photo fun and uniqueness, here are some great spots that will even excite those who don’t like their picture taken. (I’m talking to you, men!) The pumpkin spider located just across from Tennessee Tornado, the huge pumpkin butterfly found in Wildwood Grove, and the pumpkin dance party in Timber Canyon are great spots to bring a little variety to your family photos. While you’re in Timber Canyon be sure to get your picture under the Great Pumpkin LumiNights portal sign and the one-size-fits-all coffin.

Don’t Miss Displays

There are also many small displays throughout the park that are perfect for random photo spots. The small train display that leads into Jukebox Junction, the pumpkin people along Showstreet, and the scarecrows in The Village are just a few areas where you can take a quick fall pic.

Insider Tip

At some of the locations you will see a “Picture Parking Spot” sign. Be sure to tag #Dollywood when you post on Instagram. You might be one of the lucky ones whose picture gets featured on the Dollywood Instagram page. Read more about how to be featured here.

Dollywood’s Harvest Festival and Great Pumpkin LumiNights is a great time to indulge in a little family photo fun and create some wonderful memories. Each area offers something different and creative, so try and capture it all. Whether you have a small kiddo or if you’re bringing the whole family, these spots will be the perfect backdrop for all of those fall Dollywood memories. Be sure and check out all of the info on the Harvest Festival HERE.

Insider Tip

Don’t forget all the great photo ops at night during Great Pumpkin LumiNights! I took these pictures during the day because of the beautiful colors, but here’s a camera tip if you’re going at night. Be sure to turn off your flash. When you use the flash, it will capture and highlight the foreground and take away from the awesomeness of the lighted jack-o-lanterns.
