The 411 on Dollywood First Aid

It’s Murphy’s Law, right? The moment you finally decide to unwind and go on a family vacation, either you, your partner or your children inevitably comes down with some variety of illness, or broken bone, or any other variety of boo boo that might make your vacation less than idyllic. I know our family has spent our fair share of vacations with a puke bucket in the backseat of our minivan or making a midnight emergency room run for a surprise ear infection that just won’t quit. It just happens. It’s part of being a parent.

Thankfully, when one of these “surprise” illnesses or injuries rears its ugly head while you’re visiting Dollywood, Dollywood’s Splash Country or Dollywood’s DreamMore Resort and Spa, you can rest assured that you and your loved ones will be well cared for and back enjoying all that Dollywood has to offer in no time!

During a recent trip to Dollywood with our family, we ended up at Le Conte Medical Center Emergency Room at 2 a.m. because our son spiked a crazy-high fever. Thankfully, the staff at the resort could not have been more helpful and accommodating when my husband called the front desk frantically in the wee hours of the morning. The valet (which was closed) opened back up to bring us our car and the concierge made sure we knew exactly how to get to the hospital and even took care of our car personally when we returned at 6 a.m. We were so thankful for their graciousness and assistance during a very stressful night!

Thankfully, a few rounds of antibiotics and a couple hours of catch-up sleep later, our family was ready to hit the park with the spring back in our steps. Although I was nervous about venturing out so quickly after our late-night ER visit, my worries were assuaged because the staff at the resort reminded me of the many first aid stations sprinkled throughout the Dollywood theme park. As a mom, I felt certain that should my little guy start feeling rough again during our visit, we would never be more than a few minutes’ walk away from immediate medical care.

Insider Tip

For all the moms and dads of little ones who are visiting Dollywood, the closest First Aid station to Country Fair is located just up the hill and beside the train tracks. The staff at Village First Aid is top notch!

The concierge staff at Dollywood’s DreamMore Resort and Spa even took the time to highlight all the First Aid locations for me on our park map and put to rest any fears I had about needing medical attention while we were visiting Dollywood.

Here is your First Aid location cheat sheet:

  • JukeBox Junction
  • The Village
  • Wilderness Pass
  • Wildwood Grove

There are also nearly two dozen emergency defibrillators located throughout the park.

If you or anyone in your party should need medical attention while you’re visiting Dollywood, be sure to ask one of the incredible hosts for assistance. They will be more than happy to help you access the care you need and get you back to enjoying the fun in no time!
