Shopping for a Thrill Seeker at Dollywood

Finding a gift for a thrill-seeking adrenaline junkie is easy at Dollywood. Trust me – I’ve been shopping at the park for my own collection of roller coaster memorabilia for 15+ years.

Let’s dive into the best places in the park to find the daredevils in your life something they’ll cherish:

Hi-Octane (Jukebox Junction)

Lightning Rod is my favorite coaster at Dollywood, so it’s no surprise that I recommend going to the ride’s Hi-Octane gift shop to stock up on gifts that any coaster enthusiast will enjoy.

Located near Lightning Rod’s entrance, Hi-Octane is packed with shirts, hats, glasses, magnets and more – all featuring that gleaming, hot-rod-inspired Lightning Rod logo.

The Mine Shaft (Timber Canyon)

There may not be a light at the end of the tunnel, but there is a gift shop at the exit of Mystery Mine.

Standing in the shadows of the imposing indoor/outdoor steel coaster, The Mine Shaft is an open-air shop with an array of Mystery Mine and Dollywood merch.

A Flight on SkyZip

With some extra spending money from a gift certificate, thrill seekers can invest an additional fee in an unforgettable adventure on SkyZip, which allows guests to fly on a zip line across the Wilderness Pass area, soaring like an eagle over the park’s beautiful landscape.

Eagle’s Flight Outfitters (Wilderness Pass)

I’ve bought some of my favorite Dollywood shirts and souvenirs at Eagle’s Flight Outfitters, which is located at the exit of the Wild Eagle wing coaster.

My favorite shirts at this shop are the ones that play on the chicken/eagle bravery spectrum. Although I wouldn’t consider myself a “chicken” having ridden Wild Eagle so many times, I’d still wear the shirt.

The Dollywood Emporium

If you forgot to shop while in the park, don’t worry. The Dollywood Emporium at the park exit is packed with gifts and souvenirs for every member of the family, including those thrill seekers.

The Emporium features apparel and trinkets from most of the major thrill rides in the park. I found t-shirts and a hoodie that names all of Dollywood’s big coasters.

Dollywood Gift Certificate

The holidays are a busy time of year, so if you can’t make it to the park before it’s time to wrap gifts, a Dollywood Gift Certificate can be purchased online for any dollar amount and is redeemable at both Dollywood and Dollywood’s Splash Country and can be used toward TimeSaver passes or a VIP tour—both are popular with the thrill-seeker crowd.

Package Pick-Up

Insider Tip

Use the park’s complimentary package pick-up service! Often when I find a “gotta have it” item, I buy it on the spot. But I don’t necessarily want to take it with me throughout the park – especially if it’s large or breakable.

When checking out, let the Dollywood host know that you’d like to pick up the package later (they usually ask). You’ll receive a card with a time when your item will be ready for pickup at the Emporium. Just pick it up on your way out of the park.

Dollywood Season Pass

One of the greatest gifts at Dollywood is the gift of unlimited visits to the park. Using a gift certificate, adrenaline aficionados can apply the amount toward a Season Pass, which will grant them thrills through the end of the 2018 season. And with a Gold Pass, they’ll get 20% off food and merchandise, which makes eating and shopping at Dollywood even better.

Next time you’re in search of a gift for a thrill seeker, remember: Dollywood has you covered.

He’s a devout roller coaster enthusiast and has been a frequent Dollywood visitor since 2001. That love for roller coasters led him to start Coaster101.com in 2005. Since then, the website has become a trusted source for the latest roller coaster news, educational articles, interviews with amusement industry leaders, and of course, all things Dollywood. The world record-breaking Lightning Rod is near the top of John’s list of favorite coasters, which is impressive considering he’s ridden more than 190 coasters across the United States! However, he’s been known to tout Dollywood’s famous cinnamon bread as the park’s star attraction. He looks forward to sharing his passion for Dollywood with the world!
