My Spa Date with My Daughters

Winter can be a challenging season for adventure-seeking families, as it’s the time when some of our favorite destinations (like Dollywood and Dollywood Splash Country) are hibernating until the weather warms back up. But I’ve found that it doesn’t mean there aren’t really special experiences available; you’ve just got to know where to look for them!

The place to look this time of year is The Spa at Dollywood’s DreamMore Resort. Did you know this is the only premium spa in the area that keeps children in mind in its menu of offerings? True to Dolly’s commitment to provide fun for the whole family, at this delightful oasis of pampering you can bring your littlest hands and feet in for manicures and pedicures, or you can even indulge those sweet faces with a mini facial made just for kids!

I recently took my two girls in for their very first manicures, and they have been talking about their experience for weeks! The Spa was so peaceful and lovely, and the staff was absolutely delighted to have little ones around and to show them exactly how fun it is to be treated with a manicure.

I really enjoyed seeing my kids engaged in the art of chit chat with the nail technicians who guided them beautifully through lots of fun talk about the best rides and the best food at Dollywood. The girls each chose their own polish colors and loved showing off their shiny nails to anyone and everyone in the vicinity. My older daughter commented that she liked looking a little bit fancier because, “Dolly would be proud.”

Indeed she would, little one. She’d be proud to see all three of us having this special time together, getting to relax and enjoy a quiet morning, and having absolutely gorgeous nails at the end of it all! It’s all by design, and it’s a flawless one, if I do say so myself.

During the winter, call for Spa hours 865-428-9684. Resort stay not required.
