Tips for Bringing Large Groups to Dollywood

Are you the designated group leader when it comes to corporate or church outings, educational trips or multi-family vacations? I have worn those shoes for many years, and I’m here to tell you that one of the easiest and most fun group trips to plan is Dollywood! In this blog, I’m going to share tips for bringing a large group to Dollywood.

Discounted Tickets

Groups of 15 or more are eligible for a group discount. Be sure you pre-purchase your tickets because this offer is not available at the gate. There are lots of perks to help you save money when planning a group trip. The simplest way to start the process is by visiting Dollywood.com/Groups where you can find answers to common questions and purchase tickets.

If you’d like to speak to someone about bringing your group to Dollywood, decide how large this gathering will be first.

For groups that have 15 to 99 participants, you may call (888) 428-6789.

For groups of 100 or more, call (865) 429-9783.

Insider Tip

Don’t wait until the last minute. Plan ahead! If you order your group tickets at least two weeks in advance, they will mail the tickets to you. I like having them in hand when we arrive; it saves time and makes it easier for your group to enter the park.

Customize Your Trip

Dollywood is an excellent field-trip destination for many reasons. I always enjoy bringing school groups to the park during various festivals to experience a wider variety of foods and entertainment. When you make your reservation, be sure to check out the school group perks—like bus driver tickets, chaperone Season Passes and student lunch options!

Of course, the park is located at the doorstep of the most-visited national park: Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The Smokies is one of the most biodiverse places in the world, so the natural environment alone is a great place to venture for hands-on learning opportunities for people of all ages.

One of the great things about bringing your church or corporate group is the variety of attractions the park offers. Thrill-seekers may want to spend all day going from coaster to coaster, while those who enjoy a slower pace will want to catch the shows and stroll through the quaint shops. That’s the thing I love about Dollywood—they have something for everyone!

Insider Tip

I always encourage those in my group to take advantage of the Dollywood Season Pass upgrade! For less than the cost of a 1-Day ticket, group tickets can be upgraded to a Season Pass (if upgraded before you leave the park during your visit). With a Season Pass, you can come back as often as you like during the operating season!

Something you may not know is that each year Dollywood has special dates set aside for Homeschoolers and Scouts; you can find those dates on their website. They also offer professional tour discounts and facility rental for corporate meetings/luncheons.

Document the Experience

I love to take pictures and record special moments made at the park. Dollywood is full of unique and cool photo ops. Take advantage by capturing memories with your group and sharing them online! We love to grab pictures with our favorite Dollywood characters and take group selfies with iconic signs and decorations!
