There’s so much music, dancing, and great performance to see and hear that you can spend a whole day being entertained and not ride a single ride. If you don’t have all day, or you just can’t figure out what’s best for you or your group, use this handy rundown on Dollywood’s Smoky Mountain Christmas shows and entertainment to get started!
Christmas with the Kingdom Heirs
What: Christmas and gospel favorites in beautiful four-part harmony from Dollywood’s award-winning Southern gospel group.
Who: Kids and adults of all ages. Everyone will hear a song they’ve heard before and likely one they love. This show is 45 minutes, so it’s just right for a restful sit-down. It’s more music than talking, so little ones will stay entertained.
Appalachian Christmas
What: Acoustic Christmas music by a four-person ensemble at the Back Porch Theater.
Who: Kids and adults of all ages. This is a fantastic way to introduce kids to Bluegrass and traditional music, and it’s a short 30 minutes. Be aware that the Back Porch Theater is open-air.
Christmas in the Smokies
What: Dollywood’s Christmas Tradition! A 14-person cast accompanied by a nine-piece band singing hometown holiday favorites that celebrate the meaning of Christmas.
Who: Older kids and adults of all ages. This is a 55-minute show in a large, darkened theater.
It’s a Wonderful Life
What: A revue-style show centered around the plot of a classic Christmas film. This show has lots of great music and dance numbers and a fantastic cast. Audiences will love the heartwarming holiday story of love and generosity.
Who: Pre-teens, teens, and adults of all ages. This show requires following along with the dialogue and songs to understand the story. It’s about a 65-minute show.
Mistletones
What: An a capella spin on Christmas favorites.
Who: Kids and adults of all ages. This is a short show (15 minutes) you can walk up to, and everyone is bound to hear something they love.
O’ Holy Night
What: A lovely retelling of the Christmas story with song and stage performance.
Who: Kids and adults of all ages. The show is a beautiful 20 minutes in a sit-down, open-air theater.
‘Twas the Night Before Christmas
What: A fantastic stage show about family, home, and what Christmas truly means.
Who: Kids and adults of all ages. The show runs for 45-minutes, but child actors and fun song and dance numbers will keep even the smallest visitors engaged and delighted.
Parade of Many Colors
What: A dazzling street parade that lights up the night to some of your favorite holiday music!
Who: Everyone! This is a really gorgeous parade that runs down Showstreet and will delight guests of all ages!
What: An enchanting light show featuring a 50-foot tall animated Christmas tree that tells a story through images created with programmable LED lights.
Who: Everyone! These beautiful lights tell a story of a Smoky Mountain Christmas that will put the whole family in the Christmas spirit.
