When my family spends a day at Dollywood, we like to use our mid-day meal as not only time to fill our bellies with some of the awesome food the park has to offer, but also as a chance to get inside and enjoy some AC.
There are seven eateries in Dollywood that offer indoor seating.
Front Porch Café, which was once known as the Backstage Restaurant, was remodeled for the 2017 season. The atmosphere is lighter and brighter, but the food is as amazing as before. This full-service restaurant boasts favorites such as meatloaf piled high on mounds of mashed potatoes that is out of this world. Like most kiddos, my girls are fans of the chicken tenders! And don’t forget to get yourself an order of Dolly’s banana pudding!
Red’s Drive-In is a great option if your group includes younger kids. Located in Jukebox Junction, it features burgers and milkshakes in a 50s-themed diner. One of my family’s favorite features of Red’s is the Coca-Cola Freestyle machine. My daughter is a wiz at coming up with crazy concoctions!
This year, Aunt Granny’s Restaurant was recast and she is gorgeous! The décor inside gives it a fresh, farmhouse feel and the food is southern cuisine at its finest. Served in beautiful blue Lodge cast iron, the food is varied enough that you can find something for everyone at your table. Make sure you leave room for dessert – cupcakes, brownies, soft-serve ice cream and of course, Dolly’s famous banana pudding recipe.
On our last trip to Dollywood, my family had lunch at Miss Lillian’s Smokehouse for the first time and it was a hit! My girls love it when they get to choose from the buffet line. My husband really enjoyed the smoked chicken wings! And don’t think you’ll miss out on the fabulous banana pudding – you can get it here, too!!
If you’ve just come back from a ride on the Dollywood Express and ready to take a break from the outdoors, you can grab a slice at Victoria’s Pizza. What I like about Victoria’s Pizza is the menu is simple! When you’re hot and hungry, too many choices can be overwhelming! You can get a pizza, sandwich, salad or soup and be on your way with a happy tummy as quick as can be.
Spotlight Bakery & Sandwich Shop offers lots of sweets, but you can also get some great sandwiches as the name suggests. The Bakery tends to be a gathering spot, so seats are at a premium, but if you can grab one, take it and enjoy whatever menu item you decided to indulge. Did you know that you can order one slice of the 25 lb. apple pie and it can feed a family of four?!
Across from the Bakery, you can also snag a seat inside Showstreet Ice Cream at the Sweet Shoppe. Order yourself a sundae, milkshake or ice cream cone and have a seat. Then, you can stroll through the store and make find a treat to take home. It’s Dollywood—calories don’t count!
For those just hoping for a shaded spot and don’t need AC, you can find a nice place to sit and eat on the Porch of Granny Ogle’s Ham N Beans, Hickory House and Lumber Jack’s Pizza.
If you’re like me and my family and like to make sure and squeeze every minute out of your time at Dollywood, I suggest you do a little multi-tasking and combine taking a break from the heat and enjoying the great food at Dollywood all in one stop at one of these great indoor dining options!
