When my daughters were younger, we spent several spring breaks at Dollywood. I consider that plan a mom-win because the kids think we’re doing something fun, but I also know it’s educational because it just so happens that spring break coincides with Dollywood’s Festival of Nations. To have your own mom-win (or dad-win), you should take advantage of this annual event, too! Festival of Nations will immerse your family in cultures from around the globe through music, art, food and entertainment. Two of our favorite shows from my girls’ childhood was a steel drum orchestra from the Caribbean and an Irish dance company.
Insider Tip
Invaders Steel Drum Orchestra is back at Dollywood’s Festival of Nations this year. Don’t miss this group! They’re fun to watch, and if you close your eyes their music will transport you to a warm, sandy beach with not a care in the world!
To get the best bang for your buck, start planning now and go ahead and make your reservations. I’m a fan of Dollywood’s DreamMore Resort and Spa because resort guests receive complimentary transportation to and from Dollywood. You’ll also receive complimentary TimeSaver passes, which ensures you’ll see the shows you want to see and minimize the time you wait in line for your favorite rides. Another cool perk of staying at Dollywood’s resort—if you buy anything at the theme park, you can have it delivered to your room at the resort at no charge.
Be sure to check Dollywood’s operating calendar. Dollywood is open most days during this time of year, with the exception of Easter Sunday and some Tuesdays.
I hope to run into you at the park and hear about your mom-win!
