Follow Your Nose to the Resort’s Herb Garden

Upon arrival at Dollywood’s DreamMore Resort and Spa, you can’t help but immediately notice the beauty of the property, both inside and out. The resort is surrounded by lush landscape and gardens along with an inviting pool and recreation area. An invitation to sit and relax with your family is evident at every turn. Since Dollywood and the resort always want to improve, a month ago they added something new and exciting to enhance the atmosphere even more!

Beside the porch of Song & Hearth Restaurant, you’ll see an herb garden with an initial 15 herbs. Some of these herbs are mints, basil, oregano and sage. These particular herbs were chosen for a couple of reasons. One reason was for their beautiful fragrance. The resort hopes that guests will catch the various aromas as they stroll about the property. The herbs were also chosen to be used for cocktail and food garnishes, along with décor at banquets, on buffet lines and on tables throughout the property.

The first herb harvest will happen by the end of September. The future plans are to add signage so guests can identify the lovely smells they’ll notice. The hope is for guests to enjoy the fragrances throughout all areas (indoor and outdoor) of Dollywood’s DreamMore Resort and Spa. The resort is excited about this sustainable and responsible approach to cuisine they are implementing. Next time you are on property, make sure you not only look at the beautiful landscaping but also make sure you use your nose to enjoy the ways the resort is ever improving.
