Finding Dolly

I’ve been looking for Dolly since I was a little kid – the big hair, the sparkly clothes, the high, high heels. The first time I was at Dollywood, I looked all over for her and was not at all disappointed to find her in tons of places in the park and around Pigeon Forge. Here are my seven favorite places to find Dolly.

The Sevier County Courthouse

Dolly’s statue sits just outside the courthouse and is a testament to Dolly, her music, and her butterflies. I think it’s one of the best statue representations of a person I’ve ever seen. And I can’t fault anyone with a butterfly on her guitar.

Chasing Rainbows Museum

Holo Dolly! (Get it?) Dolly’s hologram entertains guests at the Chasing Rainbows Museum in Dollywood daily. It’s like Dolly in the future and I can’t get enough of it. You’ll want to check out the rest of the museum anyway – it’s such a great collection.

Dolly Parton’s Stampede

As if it weren’t enough to have dinner while watching some of the best horsemanship around, guests exiting Dolly Parton’s Stampede are treated to a giant photo of Dolly in the exit stairwell.

Dollywood’s DreamMore Resort and Spa- Lower Lobby

Ms. Parton has produced and performed more than ninety albums. How do I know? I counted the covers in the hallway at DreamMore. The photo at the end of the hall is one of my favorites of Dolly, and the hallway itself is a major testament to the power of a woman on a mission.

Dreamsong Theater

Visit Adventures in Imagination at Dollywood and Dolly watches over you as you make your way past the Dreamsong Theater. You’ll go for the tour bus, you’ll stay for Dolly’s hair.

Dollywood’s DreamMore Resort and Spa- Guest Hallways

Dolly Parton has said some truly amazing and inspirational things. Like this quote (closest to my heart), some of them are grouped in collages in the DreamMore resort hallways. I have a terrible need to go to each floor to see them, but I’m holding off so it’ll be like Christmas each time I stay.

Going Home With You

If there’s anything better than seeing Dolly around the parks and resort, it has to be taking her home with you. And you can! For just a dollar or so, you can get your very own collectible shopping bag with Dolly on it. If you thought your souvenirs were good before, wait until you take them home in one of these.
