My Favorite Themes at Dollywood’s Splash Country

Summertime just calls for a visit to a water park. For my family, we have visited quite a few water parks and have found Dollywood’s Splash Country to be the most unique and absolutely one of our favorites! The other places I’ve been fall into either one of two categories: a concrete jungle full of tower slides and little shade, or it has a full-blown “island” feel that puts you in a tropical island state of mind.

The atmosphere is different at Dollywood’s Splash Country though! Themed after those beautiful Great Smoky Mountains where Dolly Parton grew up, Splash Country gives you a special kind of setting.

From the moment you pass through the gates, a mountain oasis is calling your name. One of my family’s favorite things about this water park is the peaceful, tranquil atmosphere and the way the attractions are tucked into the foothills. Dollywood’s Splash Country is highly-themed with the mountains because, well, they’re all around you!

This water park capitalizes on its amazing, eye-catching terrain. The blooms you see around the park are native to the area—and even the use of river rock nod to the natural streams that flow through the nearby mountains. Signs for a boat livery (also known as a boathouse!) enhance the theming experience.

And when it comes to the attractions, they’re aptly named for a memorable visit.

Plan YOUR adventure soon at Dollywood’s Splash Country! Last day of the season is Labor Day!
