Summer fun has begun at Dollywood’s Splash Country! We enjoyed a much-needed day of water play during one of Dollywood’s Splash Country’s Season Passholder preview days. It was the perfect time to check out the new safety measures in place during the water park’s phased reopening.
As expected, we were greeted by safety staff who checked our temperature. We were a little nervous that security checks would pose a longer wait, but we walked directly into the park with NO LINES!
We presented our reservation (made online before our visit) along with our annual passes. The safety staff wand-checked our bags then we were on our way!
Insider Tip
As we entered the park, we immediately noticed green “Clean” tags indicating which chairs had been used and which had been sanitized. It made finding our spot super-easy and reassuring.
There are sanitizing stations as you enter each ride for guests to clean their hands as well as newly- installed sinks for soap and water hand-washing.
Insider Tip
One of our favorite spots to play is the wave pool! I was really impressed to learn that the staff clears the wave pool every two hours for additional cleaning of tubes, etc. Not to mention that my family is in the care of the most well-trained lifeguards in the Smokies.
So, what else is NEW at Splash Country? A food truck! That’s right, the Jukebox Junction food truck drove onto the water park for the season with lots of summer treats conveniently located near the wave pool.
I know there’s a burning question on everyone’s mind – what about the masks? We wore masks as we entered and exited the park. Once we found chairs, we checked to ensure we had safe social distancing from neighboring chairs, then we removed our masks and enjoyed water play!
