While you’re enjoying the lights, shows and treats of Dollywood’s Smoky Mountain Christmas this year, don’t forget to make time to shop. Dollywood boasts a huge collection of unique, handmade and regionally-inspired treasures for yourself or any friends and family on your holiday gift list. This is by no means an exhaustive list, but it will give you a good idea of where to start.
First up is Mountain Blown Glass where you can make your own blown glass ornament. We did this last year and the boys loved it. This year it was so much fun to unwrap them and hear their memories of making them as they hung them on our tree.
Nothing says “from East Tennessee with love” like Taste Traders’ apple and honey butters, moonshine jelly or moonshine peanut butter. You will also find one-of-a-kind sauces and jams. Beyond gifts for loved ones, Taste Traders treats make a perfect hostess gift for any holiday party.
My favorite gifts at Valley Forge & Foundry are the metal animals, colorful metal hooks and personalized signs. You can shop and watch craftsmen make hand-forged steel items.
I instantly found a purse that I loved at Smoky Creek Leather and Hat Co. This is a good stop for men or women as the shop is full of hats, belts and accessories. Like this super cute bracelet.
If your kiddos love baseball check out these one-of-a-kind personalized baseball bats at The Batter’s Box. You can get their name or a team name placed on the bat.
If you can’t make it to every shop spend a little time in The Dollywood Emporium. You’ll find Dollywood-themed gifts and a sampling of goods from all of the park’s shops.
At the Emporium you can also take advantage of Dollywood’s complimentary package pick-up service. If you purchase something while walking through the park but don’t want to carry it around all day you can request to pick it up on the Emporium on your way out.
Smoky Mountain Christmas Cottage should also be on your list. The shop is beautifully-full of ornaments, trimming and gifts. It just smells and feels like Christmas.
