A Dollywood Spa-cation: Why you need to plan one!

Have you ever planned a trip to do nothing but relax?

My family and I visit Pigeon Forge regularly, but we usually plan outings. A visit to Dollywood plus a hike in Great Smoky Mountains National Park is a typical visit. But recently, I took an overnight visit to Dollywood’s DreamMore Resort and Spa with my daughter in the off-season with nothing planned, and the trip turned out to be perfect!

We knew we’d visit the resort’s spa. It’s been on my daughter’s wish list, and with an upcoming 13th birthday, this seemed a good time to treat her to her first spa experience! On the drive there, we shared ideas of what we might do, including a dinner show or area attraction, taking a hike, shopping, or visiting The Island. As it turned out, we so enjoyed the resort, we never left!

Dollywood’s DreamMore Resort and Spa offers so much; there was no need for us to journey outside. We enjoyed leisurely meals at Song & Hearth restaurant, visited the pool, and worked out in the gym. We listened to live acoustic music, warmed up at an outdoor fire pit, and enjoyed coffee and a treat by a fireplace in one of the living rooms. And we indulged ourselves at the spa. That made this trip so special! We each booked two treatments and decided to split them up over two days, which was a nice way to get the fully relaxing experience.

What makes The Spa at Dollywood’s DreamMore Resort so special?

Cozy, comfortable atmosphere

Some spas can be stark in design, but like the rest of the resort, the spa is designed to be inviting. Plush, upholstered furniture and décor including overstuffed sofas beg you to unwind with a glass of fruit-infused water. In warmer months, the sitting area extends to an outdoor area with a waterscape and rocking chairs: read, chat with other guests, or just enjoy some quiet time at the spa before or after your treatments.

Whether you’re looking for “me” time, want to connect as a couple, or have a group of girlfriends or a bridal party ready for a day of beauty, this spa can accommodate you. You can even have the Song & Hearth bring you lunch!

Like the rest of the resort, The Spa keeps younger guests in mind and welcomes all ages. The Spa menu features special services for little fingers and toes and teenage skin, so your entire family can be pampered together. Some treatment rooms accommodate two at a time. While my daughter adored the Marshmallow Latte Body Scrub, which slayed her dry winter skin, I enjoyed the DreamMore Signature Facial on a table alongside her.

Insider Tip

You do not need to be a guest at Dollywood’s DreamMore Resort to use The Spa, and local residents should ask about discounts!

Skill and charm

The Spa’s well-trained staff combine knowledge and experience to help you feel and look your absolute best. This Yankee transplant appreciates that they do so with a touch of country charm! The Spa Team is highly trained in hair, skin and nail care, as well as the products they use. Whether you’re looking for a new hair style, which was my daughter’s case, or want to learn how to maintain your spa results at home, they can teach you. The staff can also help you put together a spa experience perfect for you- just ask!

Signature treatments

The Spa’s signature treatments have been designed to provide the very best of what they offer. The Signature Facial is much more than a facial and will not disappoint! I was delighted to find my hands and feet massaged and wrapped in moisturizing “cocoons” that worked their magic during the facial. An anti-aging treatment and lip scrub were other unexpected steps and I finished the facial literally feeling great from head to toe!

Product Selection

On one of my first visits to the resort, I was given a body moisturizer sample from Farmhouse Fresh.  Since then, I’ve become a huge fan of the brand. Farmhouse Fresh products are 99% natural, and the fragrances are heavenly. The Spa carries an extensive selection of Farmhouse Fresh, along with Loma and Milk Shake Hair care products, and the staff can help you select products to take home to keep up with your spa results.

If you’re in need of some pampering and want to unwind, consider booking your own “spa-cation” with a visit to The Spa at Dollywood’s DreamMore Resort.
