My kids and I kicked off Dollywood’s 36th season with a fun-filled day including the debut of a NEW foot-stomping show. This heart-warming, hopeful performance, A Brighter Day, is a must- see. I cried. I sang. I wanted to dance. It truly has it all.
Insider Tip
Following the show, I spoke with David Brooks who has been a music director with Dollywood for more than 33 years. I asked how the show came to fruition.
“In response to what everyone has been through over the last year, we wanted to inspire our guests and help them experience a brighter day through song and dance.” He continued, “Dolly says, ‘If you see someone without a smile, then give them yours,’ and that is exactly what we hope to do for our guests.”
Also, I enjoyed that this show offers its performers a unique opportunity to ad lib since they are not portraying characters. It’s fun to follow Dollywood’s stars. You may see cast members from A Brighter Day in other shows after this show closes for more entertainment this summer.
Watch A Brighter Day at Back Porch Theater daily through June 6. Don’t miss the sing-along!
