7 Things for Kids to Do at Dollywood (That Aren't Rides)

Have you thought about planning a trip to Dollywood, but are nervous because your children don't ride many rides? Have you wondered if your little ones will get bored walking around the park if they aren't thrill seekers tall enough to ride adult rides, but are too big for the smaller rides? You might be surprised to know there are many activities for kids who don't love ride attractions that are strategically located around the park. My children are 9 and 10, and their favorites include:

  1. Face Painting located throughout the park (Usually in Wildwood Grove and Rivertown Junction)
  2. Building a stuffed animal at The Bear Market located inside Temple's Mercantile in The Village
  3. Playing carnival-style games in Country Fair and near Tennessee Tornado
  4. Splash pads and play areas located throughout the park in Wildwood Grove, Wilderness Pass and Owens Farm
  5. Mining for Gems at Lucky 7 Mine & Pick-A-Pearl in Craftsman's Valley
  6. Creating wax hands at Handsville Wax Company in Wilderness Pass
  7. Playing in the indoor playground at Hidden Hollow in Wildwood Grove
